November is probably the biggest month for shopping. Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday - tons of deals boost supply and demand while letting all of us whittle down our gift lists at lower cost. But if you're like me, it gets overwhelming. Too many choices and too many options makes my brain hurt and I essentially give up. This is the sole purpose I rarely participate in Prime Day of Black Friday shopping - I literally get so anxious from trying to sort through offers that I hit a mental brick wall. This year, I'm determined to be better by preparing early! Not only am I already compiling a list of what I'll be specifically looking for, I'm going to stick to small businesses as much as possible. As an independent consultant with my own small business, I know the importance of word of mouth and customer loyalty, so I thought I'd share a few things here that are on my quick list:
I have already been working on my own specials for the holidays, such as a winter themed book box that includes titles selected by the customer as well as some surprise fun extras, discounted shipping on select Christmas titles, and personal shopping appointments for a curated wishlist that can be sent to friends and family to help them shop for your little ones a bit easier.
This is one of my all time favorite online boutiques. I found the boutique and owner Nicole on Instagram and have been a repeat customer. Not only does she have beautiful clothing and accessories for amazing prices, she puts a personal (handwritten) touch to each order she packages, and you just can't beat that kind of customer care!
This is a pretty large company mostly known for the reusable glue on nails that come in a variety of shades, shapes, and sizes. They also have make up, but I'll leave that discussion to someone more knowledgeable since I am a make up novice! I'm a huge fan of the nails, and have some that I've already worn at least 3 times and they are still in great shape to be worn again. At $11-$15 per set, they are well worth the price for the reuse and the fact that they last up to 2 weeks for each use. You may have a Red Aspen lady already, but if not I'd love to introduce you to my girl Jessica!
I just recently discovered this company, but I'm highly impressed and have a few of the lipsenses on my wishlist. I've paid the department store prices for "all day" lipstick and without fail it was never actual all day wear. It would cake, crack, or come off on cups and straws almost immediately. This stuff, though... It's magic! I wouldn't have believed it myself if I didn't see the TikToks created by my Senegence contact in which she shows just how stay-put the magic stuff is. Senegence offers a ton of other products that are all equally impressive. Don't know a Senegence distributor? Meet my girl Amber!
Everyone has heard of Mary Kay, but let me tell you that this is not your mama's basic make up and face cream company anymore. I'm not going to lie, I remember Mary Kay from when I was a kid and it always made me think of my grandmother's hand lotion. I love my grandmother, but obviously I wasn't drawn to her skincare routine. I was recently re-introduced to Mary Kay, honestly by accident. I knew I was meeting with someone that was in the skincare world, but I had no idea what company it was or was I was in store for. When I found out it was Mary Kay, I honestly was so surprised and pleasantly impressed! Not only is the skincare really nice, with multiple lines for multiple solutions to whatever skincare issue you may have, but the way my Mary Kay lady makes it so personal and fun is just the cherry on top! Not only will you get to try amazing products and have 1:1 help to build your cart, it's a nice break from the day to day monotony to hop onto a virtual guided facial with the fun and bubbly Aleigha!
Do you have a go-to girl for any of your small business needs? I love finding women and families to support and I'd love to hear about others.
*Stay tuned for Part 2*
